After the epic saga of Naagin came to an end, Ekta Kapoor is ready to enthral the audience with yet another riveting show Bepanah Pyaar. The story of the show revolves around two lovers where one of them dies in an unfortunate accident, only to reincarnate and come back to fulfil their promises. The show is on the lines of Ekta Kapoor’s cult show Kasam Tere Pyaar Ki but with a thrilling twist to it. The show features Pearl V Puri, Ishita Dutta, Aparna Dixit and Devika Singh in lead roles. If you’re wondering whether or not to invest your time in the show, here’s a quick review of the show…
Plot:
The episode starts with Raghbir (Pearl) and Bani (Aparna Dixit) spending a romantic evening together in a hill station. The setup is extremely romantic, the two are in a cottage, it’s snowing outside and Raghbir sets up the mood by playing his favorite song ‘Kya Hua Tera Vaada’. Suddenly Bani runs out of the door till the fence which panics Raghbir, but the next second we see her fall off from the cliff while Raghbir is standing there helpless. The scene cuts to Raghbir waking up from his dream, only to realize it’s his wedding day today. Soon we are introduced to the fact that it’s been a couple of years since Bani has died but he is still stuck in the past. Due to family pressure he agrees to marry a girl he has absolutely no interest in. After Bani’s demise, Raghbir has immersed him in his work and is indeed one of the richest hotelier of the country.
The twist in the tale comes when Raghbir is just about to tie the knot, a woman names Sukanya, London’s richest businessman’s daughter walks in and claims that Raghbir made the same promises to her as Bani. However Raghbir denies it completely, Sukanya’s claims baffle everyone including the media. Her identity and claims are left on a mysterious end and that’s what sets the intrigue part.
Parallely, we are introduced to Pragati (Ishita Dutta), who is the daughter of a traffic policeman and works in Raghbir’s company, she’s ambitious and full of life. Not much about her character has been revealed yet.
What we liked:
It’s thrilling to see Pearl V Puri back on screen again after Naagin 3. He is absolutely admirable as Raghbir and it’s refreshing to see him in a totally different character. Aparna Dixit as Bani and Ishita Dutta as Pragati seem to fit the bill completely but Devika Singh as Sukanya seemed a little underwhelming in front of them. The background score is the highlight of the show and completely goes with the theme. The writing is good and has set the right mood for mystery.
What we didn’t like:
All the important characters were revealed in the first episode itself. While that was not a very bad thing, the makers could have introduced Ishita’s and Devika’s character with a little more hype.
Verdict:
If you’re a fan of riveting thrillers and mysteries, you should definitely consider watching this. Supernatural thrillers are the hottest trend in television currently and Bepanah Pyaar is the newest addition to the bandwagon. We thoroughly enjoyed the screen presence of Pearl, Aparna and Ishita and are totally intrigued to know the truth behind the mystery.
