#Review: NEVER TRUST ANYONE - A reminder by the latest episode of 'Game Of Thrones'

Back to the basics indeed

We are back to business, back to the sheer reason why Game Of Thrones began in the first place. Now that The Great War is over and all the madness surrounding defeating the dead is done with, Game Of Thrones goes back to the basics with the fourth episode and reminds us what was the show about in the beginning. At a surprising 70+ minutes of runtime, this one certainly is the best-paced yet.

Let's discuss the moments that defined this episode.

One Last Goodbye

Giving the perfect goodbyes to some of the most beloved characters, the episode began with respective characters burning the pyre of the dead ones thus giving it a fitting end to the several storylines between them. Of course, they will be missed.

Bye Bye

Party Time

Switching gears almost immediately, everybody can be seen partying together celebrating their win, masterfully placed with Dany and Jon struggling to come terms with THAT truth. A little but quite an effective moment of a laugh comes in when virginity is talked about in Tyrion's drinking game and Podrick drinks it. Really, Pod? After being the man with magical powers, you would lie?

Party

Definitely, Maybe

It was long-awaited and inevitable that Jaime and Brienne will hook up and they finally did in what wasn't the quintessential love scene that we see in Thrones but that was the beauty of it. Of course, we see what happens ultimately, where Jaime HAS to go but this little moment was totally worth it.

Love, Not Really

Learn About Moving On From Tormund Giantsbane

Tormund continued to give goals to one and all in this episode too. He understood and accepted that Brienne cannot be with him and while he has a broken heart, he almost immediately moved on. Boy! A complete package Tormund is indeed.

Revision Of Lesson - NEVER TRUST ANYONE

One of the classic moments of this episode was how the typical 'Don't-tell-anyone' thing literally never works. After Dany and Jon almost deciding that they will not tell THAT truth to anyone, Jon mentioned about owing his family the truth and so he tells Sansa and Arya through Bran. But as he takes a promise from both of them to not tell anyone, Sansa tells Tyrion and now including Varys,

eight people know. So, as Varys said, it isn't a secret anymore, it is information. Once again, the 'Don't-tell-anyone' thing never works, NEVER.

No Trust

Surprise Attack and Another Farewell

To all those people who complained about the Night King dying 'just like that', I wonder what would they have to say about Rhaegal's death? A mini but surprise attack from Euron Greyjoy and his fleet caught the sailing army of Dany completely off-guard and killed Rhaegal almost immediately. Cersei proved once again, you cannot outsmart her too often.

Bye Bye Rhaegal

Millions Will Die

Even after Varys and Tyrion's several attempts on explaining Dany to not become the ruthless Targaryen she struggles to defeat to be, Dany continued to ignore that advice. She confirmed millions of innocents will die and that doesn't go down well with Varys and Tyrion's loyalty to them. Now that they know, the ponder about Jon being the better ruler but that's treason.

Dany?

Cersei's First Win

Dany and Tyrion continued to try and make Cersei realize how her reign is over and it is her last chance to surrender and save everyone. But Tyrion should know Cersei better after all and understand that SURRENDER isn't a word she understands. But the truth was spoken by Qyburn as he mentioned how Dany's odds are only getting worse. Once having three, now she has only one dragon left who is extremely vulnerable and the army she had has been sliced into half. Chances for Cersei are better than they ever were.

Dany's Losing It All, Which Means...

I have continued to highlight the fact of how Dany is not only making bad decisions but losing small battles time and again. Almost every plan of hers is failing and now with only one dragon left, she doesn't have much to boast about too. But. she is Daenerys Targaryen after all. Does this mean that she will once again rise above all odds in the end? Seems likely.

The Best, Yet Again

Apart from being a fantastically paced episode, The Last Of The Starks reminded all the viewers on how Thrones performs best when it not having people fighting literally all the time. Of course, that extravagance makes Thrones the biggest show in the world but it is the writing and the several layers to the characters that make the show so deliciously intriguing. The Throne is about what the show began with and The Throne

is about what it will end with. And instead of just being a build-up episode, this one was a nail-biting build-up to the penultimate episode. Oh! And also, farewell Missandei Of Naath. The moment she was captured by Cersei, we knew that was coming.
