#Review: 'Haasil' combats the 'cliched' presentation of thrillers in the most effective manner

A thriller that does give the thrills to experience..

The Story So Far

The show opens with a scene where a girl named Meenu Mudgal is apparently raped. Meenu's mother involves an NGO, 'Law for Happiness' to see that her daughter gets justice. On the basis of Meenu's statement, Aanchal Shrivastav (Nikita Dutta) reaches the insanely rich Raichands and gets the eldest son Ranvir Raichand (Zayed Khan) arrested, post which Ranvir's mother Sarika (Sheeba Sabir) and brother Kabir (Vatsal Sheth) start attacking Aanchal in every manner.

While Sarika goes to Aanchal's house to intimidate her, Kabir lures and leaves Aanchal stranded in the middle of the sea. In the meantime, Meenu gets murdered and Ranvir, who has been released on bail, gets arrested again on the basis of the footage that Aanchal secures. However, Kabir proves to be resourceful, when he gets the proofs that it wasn't his brother who murdered Meenu, but the manager of the Raichand Industries. The manager confesses of Meenu and himself plotting to trap Ranvir for a huge sum of money and how their plan backfires when Meenu's mother contacts Aanchal.

After the court acquits Ranvir from the murder charges, Ranvir tells Aanchal that he will get his payback on her for repeatedly accusing him.

What will happen to the twisted tale of Aanchal, Ranvir and Kabir, only time will tell!

What We Liked

For us, it is always an easy pick- a fast paced storyline over an unnecessarily dragged saga. With Haasil, we are fortunately provided with exactly the same.

While we've seen Vatsal at his evil and quirky best in Ek Hasina Thi, his portrayal of Kabir Raichand in Haasil is just a level up from what he did in the former.

And Nikita is as flexible with her role as ever where she plays the bratty elder sister, the caring and supporting daughter and the fierce lawyer who strives to decode the truth with perfection.

A special mention to Zayed Khan as he marks his Television debut with Haasil and it could not get any better. Zayed as the dapper Ranvir Raichand completely owns the frame as and when he steps into it.

Also, the fact that the show has been shot at all possible real locations and does not really have any fixed set to shoot at has only added to the intrigue that the unusual premise of the show has caused.

What we did not like:

Zayed has an absolutely stunning on-screen personna, but his character of Ranvir Raichand could have been given better lined to mouth considering his impactful personality. Also, we feel that Zayed can work a little more on his dialogue delivery to give the necessary punch and match up to his dashing on-screen aura.

Another notable mention is the obscene portrayal of wealth as the Raichands go about distributing crores and declaring black-outs. We also wish the courtroom drama was a little more realistic.

The Verdict

For sure, Haasil is a fast paced thriller and we've already seen many such shows come and go. But it stands apart in its own way. There was nothing that we'd like to pin point and bring to the notice particularly as the show pretty much stands out on its own for not following the cliched presentation of thriller genre and it's trend, but actually has the thrill.

Vatsal Seth has been really entertaining as Kabir in the first five episodes of Haasil. Hope to see more of him!

Show is good n im liking it bt that FL n her blank expressions are irritating she is tgere in every screen n her dailogue delivery n rxpressions doesnt match urghh i know she has fan following n is known bt got she is really a misfit to play Aanchal n d same goes to Raichand's mom she is nt able to pull of d powerful role n she jus looks like ekta vamp
