Feels Like Home Season 2

Rating: 4 stars (4/5)

Feels Like Home Season 2 is out, and bromance is back with real-life challenges that propel these stubborn, party hard and live life king size boys into adulthood.

The second instalment is much more refined in-terms of writing and execution, and the ensemble keeping the vibe and mood the same, which is a rare feat in series space. The Banchod Nivas rockstars – Sameer, Akhil, Lakshay and Avi are back with a refreshing, easy-breezy humorous take on friendship and adulthood.

Just like Season 1, the show deals with raw and real issues about life, choices, vulnerabilities of adult-life, romance and deep insecurities that surface. Most part of the show is narrated from a male perspective, which is a given since its majorly a story of 4 boys. There is less of gyaan and a balancing act of fun and drama, with relatable problems and maturity in characters.

This time though, a female perspective through Mahima (Inayat Sood) and Dhriti (Himika Bose) is introduced, adding a much-needed flavour to the show and taking it up a notch in terms of storyline.

The makers have made a conscious choice to keep the story within four friends going through college life, which is refreshingly new and original for a series, which usually turns melodramatic and repetitive by the second season. This one is surely not! There’s something new to look forward to in each episode.

Prit Kamani as Lakshay, finally shed his party hard avatar and starts addressing his real emotions, and vulnerabilities – he is more real!. He is dating his best-bro Avi’s ex-girlfriend, though secretly but finally admits by coming out and making peace with his emotions and his best friend. The tumultuous version of their friendship is something every person of their age has experienced – almost feels like deja-vu, which is definitely a win for the show.

Avinash is as hysterical as he can be, he is still grappling with the idea of life and moving forward. He is still a kid in the start of season 2 whining over his girlfriend, but the 360 degree turn of this character is well-scripted and doesn’t look unreal at all. Sameer faces his fear, and puts in all his might to become the person he wants to be – again a relatable character. Akhil is one of the most grown characters in the new season; it has been all about changes for Akhil, whether it is the way he acts around the house, the way he talks, or even the way he dresses. Akhil has evolved into a more confident, bold and mature person who overcame his timid nature and learnt to confront his feelings.

The show is well-balanced – packed with comedy, mushy moments, friendships and raw emotions. A power-packed dose of entertainment that will surely be loved by viewers. A 100% binge-watch romantic drama of 6 friends, not 4!
