Dil Se Dil Tak fame, Rashami Desai is one of the most talked-about actresses of the television industry.  The gorgeous actress was also seen in Bigg Boss 13 and was among the top 3 contestants. Before the shoots of TV shows were halted, Rashami was also seen in Naagin 4. Rashami Desai in an interview recently stated that life was not always a bed of roses for her. She revealed that her mother, Rasila could not afford to send her for dance classes and was scared to face society when Rashami told her mother about her dream of being an actor.

In an interview with a leading entertainment portal, Rashami Desai revealed that her mother was a government teacher and was certainly not in the position to pay for her dance class expenses. "I started with Bharatnatyam and I was shifted to Bollywood dance in the third year," said the actress. During the same, Rashami added how acting wasn't her first preference and she was keener on becoming am air hostess or a choreographer. "I never told my mom I wanted to be an actor. In fact, earlier I wanted to become a choreographer like Saroj Khan or an air hostess. But the choices that came my way, I looked at it as an opportunity. My mom supported me throughout," she continued.

Further, her mother Rasila revealed how she had to change her daughter's name because of that fear the society and their relatives won't accept her acting career, as Rashami was the first one in their family to enter the world of showbiz.

Rasila said, "I was a single parent, I did not have a husband to support me. Also, in our caste, she was the first woman to enter this field. Our entire family was very educated and did not think of acting as a career. But, I supported her. I was scared of my family and society, so I changed her name. But my sister was there to support me throughout."
