Bollywood’s dimpled beauty, Deepika Padukone turned 34 yesterday, on January 5. The actress, who plays the role of real-life acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal in her upcoming film Chhapaak, celebrated her birthday with acid attack survivors in Lucknow.

She was accompanied by her husband and actor Ranveer Singh to Lucknow, to ring in her birthday with the real-life warrior women. Pictures and videos of the couple at the airport had gone viral on the Internet, where they also cut the birthday girl’s cake. Several pictures from their Lucknow trip also surfaced online, where they celebrated DP’s birthday with the acid attack survivors.

While Deepika and Ranveer surely had a great time together, the Gully Boy actor had also planned a birthday surprise for her, which unfortunately could not make it to the cut. 

Ranveer had planned to invest in a sea-facing apartment and book it on his darling wife’s name. He wanted the topmost floor for his birthday girl, but the apartment went on sale even before he could have a look at it, and thus his surprise for Deepika did not materialize, reported Spotboye.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Chhapaak, helmed by Meghna Gulzar starring Deepika Padukone and Vikrant Massey hits the theatres on January 10, 2020. The film discusses the life and journey of an acid attack survivor and is an attempt to bring change in the society. The star cast is on a promotional spree currently and real-life warrior Laxmi Agarwal joins the team for the film’s promotions as well.
