Ranveer Singh starrer ‘83’ declared tax-free in Delhi

Ranveer Singh is currently preparing for the release of his film '83. The film, directed by Kabir Khan, is based on India's historic World Cup victory in 1983. The Delhi state government recently declared '83 tax-free. 

Yes, you read that correctly. Pankaj Tripathi, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Jiiva, Saqib Saleem, Jatin Sarna, Chirag Patil, Dinker Sharma, Nishant Dahiya, Harrdy Sandhu, Sahil Khattar, Ammy Virk, Addinath Kothare, Dhairya Karwa, and R Badree also plays an important roles in the film. Deepika Padukone will appear in the film in a supporting role as Romi Dev, Kapil's wife.

"You know, 83 is a big responsibility for me. I knew if I don't recreate this correctly, the country will not forgive me. Ditto for Ranveer: If he won't portray Kapil correctly, the audience will not forgive him. And as you see from the trailer, he has done it brilliantly. He worked very hard.”

Ranveer Singh plays former Indian captain Kapil Dev, who led the winning squad in 83. Mohinder Amarnath, the winning team's vice-captain, will be a part of the sports entertainer, according to ETimes. He will not be appearing as himself in '83, but rather as his father, Lala Amarnath. 

The film will be released in theaters on December 24.
