Ranveer Singh opens up on his casting couch experiences during his struggling days

After making a banging debut with Band Baaja Baarat, opposite Anushka Sharma, Ranveer Singh has risen as one of the best actors in the industry today. He has proved his mettle with each passing performance and has been raising the bar with every film. Not only that, but the actor also holds a strong public image and has a reasonable social media presence.

Recently, the actor recalled his frightening casting couch encounter from his early, difficult days in the business. Ranveer most recently took part in the 19th Marrakech International Film Festival, where he was presented with the Etoile d'Or accolade. He opened up about the same in a media interaction. 

"This guy calls me to this seedy place and is like, 'Are you a hard worker, or a smart worker?'. I didn't consider myself to be smart, so I said: 'I think I'm a hard worker.' He was like, 'Darling, be smart, be sexy'. I had all those kinds of experiences during those three-and-a-half years, and I think it was that period that makes me value the opportunities I have now,"

In the meantime, Ranveer's most recent acting appearance was in the film Jayeshbhai Jordaar, which also starred Ratna Pathak Shah, Boman Irani, and Shalini Pandey. Ranveer also has a number of upcoming projects, including  Cirkus, a film directed by Rohit Shetty and starring Jacqueline Fernandez, Pooja Hegde, and Varun Sharma. The film will open in theatres throughout the world on December 23, 2022. Angoor, a 1982 Hindi movie, is the loose inspiration for Cirkus.

Ranveer also has the romantic comedy Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, starring Alia Bhatt, Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi, and Jaya Bachchan, in addition to this. The movie is slated to premiere in theatres on April 28, 2023.
