Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt starrer Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani goes on floors, KJo says “It’s time to roll”

Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh started shooting for the first schedule of Karan Johar's directorial venture Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. The star cast and makers made the announcement on Friday, by sharing a special video from the preparations for the film. To everyone’s surprise, it also featured Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh’s new looks.

The video starts with Karan's voiceover and features him along with the lead actors of the film and other cast and crew. The film also stars Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi and Jaya Bachchan in pivotal roles.

Sharing the special video, Karan Johar wrote, “The day is finally here & I have so many feelings going on in my head but what emerges at the top is - gratitude! As we begin our kahani ka first schedule, seeking all your pyaar & aashirvaad! It’s time to roll!”

In the video, Alia Bhatt is dressed in chiffon sarees with backless blouses. She has different hairdos and also wears big bindis. Ranveer Singh, on the other hand, opts for animal prints, bright colours and quirky outfits. He also sports a chain around his neck and ear studs.

The clip also features director Karan Johar, designer Manish Malhotra, and several members of the cast and crew, as they begin their first schedule which ends with Alia embracing Ranveer.

Written by Ishita Moitra, Shashank Khaitan and Sumit Roy, Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani marks Ranveer and Alia’s reunion after Gully Boy. 

Karan Johar is making his directorial comeback after five years. His last outing as a director was Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
