Ranbir Kapoor is currently attending promotional events of the film 'Sharmaji Namkeen,' which is the last film of his late father Rishi Kapoor. During an interview, the actor discussed his relationship with Rishi, his personality, and other subjects.
When asked about his relationship with his father, Ranbir Kapoor paused briefly before responding that it is similar to how anyone would connect with their father and does not stem from the fact that they share a profession. Ranbir continued by stating that he avoided Rishi Ji because he was "a little afraid" of him and never looked him in the eyes.
As a child, the actor recalls always looking down and saying 'yes' to everything. Ranbir also revealed that for a long time, he had no idea what his father's eye colour was!
However, when he became an actor, that broke the ice between them. According to Ranbir, Rishi took over as his manager, and the late legend marketed his son as if he were "Tom Cruise." Following that, the father-son team bonded.
According to the actor, his conversations with his father were not about films or success and failure, but about life, values, and what is right and wrong. Ranbir concluded by recalling Rishi Kapoor as his father and as a person, rather than as an actor.
'Sharmaji Namkeen' is directed by Hitesh Bhatia and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani. The film also stars Paresh Rawal and stars Juhi Chawla, Suhail Nayyar, Taaruk Raina, Satish Kaushik, Sheeba Chaddha, and Isha Talwar in pivotal roles.
