Ram-Sita's role in 'Luv-Kush' to be essayed by Radha-Krishna aka Shivya Pathania and Himanshu Soni

The show would be from the perspective of Ram-Sita's twins Luv and Kush.

After essaying the role of Radha-Krishna in the popular mythological series RadhaKrishn, actors  Shivya Pathania and Himanshu Soni have now been roped in to play Ram and Sita. It's for another mythological show helmed by Siddharth Kumar Tewary and based on the life of Ram and Sita's twins Luv and Kush. The show will be titled 'Luv-Kush' and the story will be narrated from the view point of the twins.

A little birdie informed Bombay Times that apart from her dedication, self-sacrifice and purity, Sita is known for her courage. According to Hindu mythology, Lakshmi incarnated as Sita and Radha, while Ram and Krishna are avatars of Vishnu. So, it was only natural to cast Shivya and Himanshu, who played Radha and Krishna, as Sita and Ram.

Himanshu who has essayed the roles of many deities over the years, informed BT about his lines of thought regarding mythological shows. He earlier said that he would avoid playing mythological characters, and even tried to stick to that decision. He was offered regular shows, but he realized that the canvas of the mythological shows he has been part of, are huge. They offer a larger-than-life experience. Once you shoot in that set-up, you find other genres restricting. As an artiste, you always aspire to do something bigger and better than your last project, and 'Luv Aur Kush' seemed perfect at this point.

Actress Shivya also shared her thoughts and said that she has lost around eight kilos for this role. She said that they have also started attending horse riding and action classes. She did not do any reference work, because  she  wanted to live and believe in the world that the storytellers have created. The story of Ramayana is well-known, but it could be presented from a different perspective.

Talking about their work together and their ease with each other, both Shivya and Himanshu replied that they share great on-screen chemistry, which was appreciated on 'RadhaKrishn'. Another advantage is that they have featured in just one episode as Radha and Krishna, so it won’t be a challenge to establish ourselves as Ram and Sita.
