Rakul Preet visited a Bar to prep for her character in Marjaavan

Directed by Milap Zaveri, the action-romantic thriller titled Marjaavan stars Siddharth Malhotra, Tara Sutaria in lead roles. The film also stars Riteish Deshmukh and Rakulpreet Singh in pivotal roles. 

Marjaavan features a quintessential story of a rowdy hero madly in love fighting against an evil villain. 

The co-producer of the film, Bhushan Kumar described the film as “a violent, dramatic love story".

However, talking of Rakul preet's character in the film, she calls it an 'extended special appearance'. 

She goes on to reveal more about her character in a recent interview and says, "It's a very 90s inspired role. While Milap was narrating the script to me, he told me it's like Rekhaji from Mukkadar ka Sikader, Tabu of Jeet, Chandramukhi of Devdas.

Even though she's a prostitute, she's someone who's very headstrong, someone who understands the power of love, who's very fierce and strong, both emotionally and mentally. I really like the streak in Arzoo that she's very fearless."

Further Rakul explains why she chose to do the role despite it not being a full fledged part in the film. 

"When I heard the script, I felt something like this has not been done in the recent past, movies like this happened in the 90s and it'll be a good contrast for people to see me from De De Pyaar De to this."

She says that the character was very new, not done before. And everytime there is  something new, she does not find it tough, she finds it exciting.

Talking of how she prepped for her character of a prostitute in the film, Rakul reveals she went to a bar to observe the girls there and how they interact.

"I went to a bar, observed a few girls there. How they stand when they're talking, their body language and how they are comfortable with their tiny blouses."

Besides Marjaavaan, Rakul reveals she has signed four other films and will soon spill the details about them.
