Businessman and Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra was arrested on Monday by the Mumbai police in a case related to alleged creation of pornographic films and publishing them through some apps. The cops in their statement on July 19, termed him as the 'key conspirator' in the case and he spent the night in custody.
Kundra will be produced in CMM Court, also known as Killa Court. He is likely to be presented in court in the second half of Tuesday, reported ETimes.
The Mumbai Police Commissioner, Hemant Nagrale confirmed the controversial arrest in a statement and shared a few more details on the development around the same. He said, "There was a case registered with Crime Branch Mumbai in February 2021 about the creation of pornographic films and publishing them through some Apps. We’ve arrested Mr Raj Kundra in this case on 19/7/21 as he appears to be the key conspirator of this."
The 45-year-old businessman was taken for medical examination to the JJ hospital after his arrest on July 19. Raj Kundra was called by the property cell and he reached the office at 8 pm and was arrested after questioning.
Post Raj’s arrest several old tweets of him debating about 'porn vs prostitution' went viral on social media. In a tweet, Raj was seen questioning why it was legal to pay someone for sex on camera, asking how prostitution was different from porn.
The tweet read: "Ok so here go's Porn Vs Prostitution. Why is it legal to pay someone for sex on camera? How is one different to the other??"
Raj Kundra is also being trolled for his Twitter bio that reads, 'Life is about making the right choices'.
Earlier today, the Mumbai Police Crime Branch arrested Ryan Tharp from the Nerul area, in connection with a case relating to the production of Pornography, reported ANI.
