Kaate Nahin Kaat Te

The fusion of Sridevi Kapoor in that burning red hot saree with Mustache King Anil Kapoor and rain, all sums up to the "Kaate Nahin Kat Te" sequence from Mr. India. This number derived its music from Pyarelal and Laxmikant and was sung by Kishore Kumar and Alisha Chinai. The track is surely breathtaking, with it pleasantly defines passion and love and is easily one of the best rain songs Bollywood has ever produced. Sridevi and Anil Kapoor's chemistry is definitely worth a watch!

Zoobie Doobie

With the deadly combination of Shreya Ghoshal and Sonu Niigam's vocals, "Zoobie Doobie" is a song made for dancing and grooving in the rain. Shreya Ghoshal does a splendid job of singing in different modulations, a tone reminiscent to western themes but then tune definitely reminds you of a late 70's scenario. Whereas Aamir Khan showcases his abs and Kareena Kapoor jives in that sexy saree, all give justice to the song and bringing in the mood of love with a pinch of craziness. The remix is fast and peppy and the beat is again, groovy.

Pyaar Hua Ikraar Hua

Coming straight from Shree 420, Raj Kapoor and Nargis became the cine lovers in "Pyaar Hua Ikraar Hua". It's cinematography, simplicity, chemistry and rhythm is what makes it different from the other rain songs. The black and white reeling, the saree clad lady and pantaloon man under an umbrella, all make us transcend in a land of ecstasy. Popular music director Shankar Jaikishan as well as director Raj Kapoor himself make the track an audio wonder, whilst Lata Mangeshkar and Manna Dey lend the perfect voices.

Tip Tip Barsa Paani

From the 1994 release Mohra, this number redefined the word 'hot' when it comes to Bollywood in the 1990s. It was sensually sung by Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik featuring Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon. The duo's chemistry in all the scenes of this track is what makes it all the more rocking in the charts of rain songs.

Barso Re

"Barso Re" from the blockbuster movie Guru, is an all-time enchanting number, and its rhythm is subtle with simple yet lovely lyrics. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan portrays the free village girl par excellence parallel to beau Abhishek Bachchan. It is the perfect frolic rain song composed by A.R. Rahman in combination with Gulzar's fabulous lyrics. Shreya Ghoshal contributed her beautiful voice for this one too.

Bhaage Re Mann

Chameli produced a great sizzling song "Bhaage Re Mann" sung by Sunidhi Chauhan. It shows the different sides of Kareena Kapoor during her early stages of acting. Both Rahul Bose and Kareena Kapoor were flawless. While Irshad Kamil's lyrics were fuel to the fire and made the track an absolute rage in the hearts of music lovers.

Koi Ladki Hai

Dil To Pagal Hai's music has always been charming for the SRK-Madhuri lovers and "Koi Ladki Hai" is just the cherry on the top! It was sung by Lata Mangeshkar and Udit Narayan, whereas the music was composed by Uttam Singh and the beautiful lyrics were written by Anand Bakshi. The rain number is a great hum-along-to track. Of course, not to forget, Shah Rukh Khan and Madhuri Dixit Nene's playful banter is enchanting to watch.

Tum Se Hi

Mohit Chauhan takes this number to new heights with Pritam Chakraborty's music. From the movie Jab We Met, this song is very much heart touching. Irshad Kamil's lyrics strike the right cord and this 2007 number with Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor sizzles up, becoming a treat to remember.

Saanson Ko Saanson Mein

A melodious number from Hum Tum is next on list. In the vocals of Alka Yagnik and Babul Supriyo, this song arises many unsaid feelings between Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukherjee in the movie. The soft voices make the song a little happy and just a little sad. This romantic song is composed by the famous duo, Jatin-Lalit.

O Saiyaan

Highly talented singer Roop Kumar Rathod contributes his vocals for "O Saiyaan" from the movie Agneepath(2012). The emphasis is more on Roop's silk voice with a superb orchestra playing in the background which fills one's heart with tons of love. The song portrays the thrilling chemistry between Kaali (acted by Priyanka Chopra) and Vijay (acted by Hrithik Roshan).

Gale Lag Ja

"Gale Lag Ja" from De Dana Dan exhibits some sensuous romance between Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif. A feel-good romantic track that unravels some of Pritam's finest works and Javed Ali's expressive voice, in addition to fresh singing sensation Banjyotsna, cuddle the song with romanticism and zingy music. This song ought to be kept on repeat once heard!

Other rain-filled songs include: Ek Ladki Bheegi Bhaagi Si" Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi (1958), "Bheegi Bheegi Raaton Mein" Ajnabee (1974), "Rimjhim Rimjhim" 1942: A Love Story (1994), "Saawan Barse Tarse Dil" Dahek (1999), "Jo Haal Dil Ka" Sarfarosh (1999), "Taal Se Taal Mila" Taal (1999), "Idhar Chala Main Udhar Chala" Koi...
