"We want you to get involved with the story and relate with the show" - Amitabh Bachchan

Legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan is all set to debut on the small screen with the show Yudh on Sony TV. Big B talks about his show, concept and more in conversation with us.

Amitabh Bachchan rings the bell at BSE as Sony TV Launches the promo and poster of 'Yudh'Endemol Production's is soon coming up with a fiction show Yudh on Sony TV. For the first time Bollywood Legend Amitabh Bachchan will be seen in a fiction television show. As the promos have already hit the TV screens and has created the curiosity amongst the viewers about the much talked show, here is the iconic star talking about the show, the storyline and much more in a candid conversation with TellyBuzz.

Here is Big B talking about the show...

He says, "As you all have seen that in Television this is my first opportunity and from many years I was thinking that I have worked in films, in reality shows but not yet in any TV serials so when I got the opportunity, I thought of making such kind of a screen play. All the people who were working with us had a word with Endemol Production. They put forth story's outline and when it got finalized we spoke to Anurag Kashyap because I thought he is the right person who can take this project further. After talking to him we got to know that from a long time Anurag was too thinking on the same lines to make a TV series which a bit different from the shows we watch on the Television and which is a finite show. So we shared our thought with Sony TV and the channel liked it and that's how a team was created for the show. "

Amitabh says that the show's concept is different and the audience would be able to relate to the characters and involved with the show's story completely, "It was in our and Anurag's mind to make a show which is not seen on the Television because normally when we watch a show or talk about the fiction show there is a typical mind set for daily soaps, so we have tried to make something different as you can see in the promos. Because everyone wants that after working for entire day all the family members come home, have dinner together and after eating when they sit together, taking one's own time sitting in drawing room and that time this show will be aired where you can watch peacefully. Because we want you to get involved with the story and also want you to relate yourself with the character in the show. "

Talking about the reason to accept the offer for working in this show Amitabh says that the show has a very unique concept, "My aim to work in the serial has been accomplished. I thank the entire team of Yudh and hope that Aapke madhyam se iska prachar ho. I really want to thank Bombay Stock Exchange as they allowed us to promote our show in such a historical place. As I have told you this is my first show."

Adding more light about the show, Amitabh says that the show's name has been inspired from the lead character's name Yudhishtir, "Basically the title of the show is titled as Yudh which is the pet name of the character Yudhishtir. Yudhishtir is the owner of the construction company and 10,000 workers work under him and so he has the responsibility of them. In every business there are competitions and so in Yudh's life and his company also faces the same competition. He has to deal with many problems. In competition many a times it becomes very tough to keep company's spirit alive the competition becomes intense and also in Yudh's life there are many family problems which you will come to know when you will watch the show."

"In every Business somewhere politics comes in and when you see the promo you will see how a minister creates problems. The minister's is played by Tigmanshu Dhulia. So Yudh has to deal with that also but the biggest problem in Yudh's life is his disease. It's a very dangerous disease and doesn't want anybody to know about it. Because as you have seen when it come to the boss's ill health stock market mai utaar chadav aane lagta hai (laughs) and other people who work in the company might be in dilemma. So Yudh has to deal with all these. How he deals with it, what will be the result that you will see in our show, " concludes Amitabh talking about the gist of the show.

TellyBuzz wishes Mr. Amitabh Bacchan All the best for the show.

Something similar was on Sony by YRF Films - Kismet. A brilliant show but never got the desired numbers. It will surely appeal to us international viewers.

Sony TV has already experimented with quite a few wonderful finite shows, but when it came to number game they were not successful. Let's see if Mr. AB can get his charm to work in changing the scenario.
