"It's an opportunity to work with Mohnish Behll"- Kritika

The bubbly and confident Kritika Kamra fondly known as Arohi of Kitani Mohabbat Hai makes a strong come back with Sony TV's Kuch Toh Log Kahenge with an ace cast. The show is a remake of the famous Pakistani show, Dhoop Kinare which was conceptualized years back. Kritika has always been lucky to get interesting projects one after another. Once again, the actress is all set to make a space in the audience's heart by portraying the multidimensional Dr. Nidhi on the show.

How did you grab Kuch Toh Log Kahenge?
Even I don't know how it happened. I just got a call from Director's Kut and was told to audition where I was asked to do my introductory scene of the show. During this process, I just got a brief on the show and that it has been based on a Pakistani show Dhoop Kinare which was made years back. I went back home and saw all the 62 parts in one stretch. I was more curious to know what happens next and I think audience will also feel the same for our show. This is how Kuch Toh Log Kahenge happened.

What was the major reason to take this show which was a big hit years back?
As I the heard the concept and saw the episodes of Dhoop Kinare, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I felt if as an audience I love watching a show like this then I would definitely like to be a part of it. I also spoke to my parents who loved Dhoop Kinare and hence they were thrilled to see such a show again on the small screen. I also felt that the audience will accept it again and that was one major reason why I took up the show.

What is beau Karan Kundra's take on the same?
This is the first time you are working without him…It's my first show without Karan after Kitani… and he is very happy that I am doing this show. In fact he was the one who encouraged me to take up the show as he always said that these are the kind of shows I should do. Though he is not around, I keep updating him about my whereabouts and he is extremely excited.

What is the main storyline like?
As the promos show, it is a love story between a young girl and an older man which is an unusual combination and hence aptly titled as Kuch Toh Log Kahenge. It's the process of two different personalities coming together and falling in love. It was accepted in Pakistan years back so we expect the same here. The show is very simple and is more about the characters and the chemistry they share. Emotions and feelings would be something thing that would hold on the audience rather than the drama in the show.

How will your love story develop in the show?
It will neither be an infatuation, love at first sight nor will it be a teacher student puppy love. This love story is a process to feel for each other. There are certain situations, conditions where we start feeling for each other and unknowingly we start thinking about it.

How far is Kritika comfortable in essaying such a role?
Obviously for any girl it would be a bit odd but when it comes to Kritika, it's just a start. I have only shot for the introductory portions. But Kritika is an actor when she is in front of the camera.

Where is the show based?
The show is based in Lucknow.

Any home work done before playing the role?
Yes, I have watched episodes of Dhoop Kinare in depth. In fact the role which I am going to essay is very bubbly and chirpy which was similar to something that I did in Kitani. But being a Punjabi loud girl is entirely different so here I have to tone down my voice to suit the role. I hope the audience recognizes me as Dr. Nidhi now instead of Arohi In this show, my character is pure and imperfect. She can't do dirty work, can't see blood and doesn't want to be a doctor. She is crystal clear and that is the beauty of my character.

What memories do you have of your co-star Mohnish Behl?
Oh, I have memories of seeing him on the big screen in Maine Pyaar Kiya and Hum Aapke Hain Kaun. In fact I consider myself fortunate to work with such an experienced actor and am honored to work with him. To share the screen with him is a trilling experience. I am very anxious too but once when the director says 'action' we have to perform keeping all the nervousness aside.

How has the experience been so far?
I have shot for only two days and the experience is great till now. We rehearse a lot before we give a shot, so it is working well.

What are your expectations from this show?
I hope the audience accepts this show as it was admired years back. And I hope it lives up to their expectations.
