"I don't think that a woman has been projected like Anita in a web series" - Eisha Chopra

The actress explains the difference in theme and concept of both the seasons of 'What the folks'

After the success of season 1 of What the folks, Dice Media is back with another season starring Veer Rajwant Singh and Eisha Chopra.

In this season, it's Nikhil's (Veer Rajwant Singh) parents who visit their son's new house where he stays with his wife, Anita (Eisha Chopra).

When asked about the series' theme and difference from last season, Eisha said, "season 1 is about a guy who had to deal with his wife's family because he has to go and live with them for one month and season 2 is about that wife now dealing with his family because they come to stay with them."

Speaking about her character she said, "in this show, in a very gentle way they have shown the character, Anita in a very unconventional way, the character I played was very different and I don't think that a woman has been projected like that in a web show because she is this girl who is older than her husband, she is more successful, she has a higher paycheck, she is much stronger than him in lots of ways and she is cool with it. The best part is, he is cool with it."

"There's a incident in season 1 where she finds out that her parents lied to the society about his age but she totally speaks of about it and confronts her parents about it, that woman had not been really shown, not much I think in the web series. There was never this character who was older, bigger, better and stronger than their husband, this was about season 1.

"Season 2 is about how this woman who is so independent, so strong and now deals with his family. Suddenly, all the daughter-in-law type of things start coming out of her and she is like I want things to be perfect because she also wants to impress them. So, this is about that even the strong Indian woman have a conditioning to be a certain way around their husband's family," she added.
