"I am really enjoying my bridal attire" - Sehrish Ali

Being the youngest and pampered daughter of Rathi family, Chavi aka Sehrish shares her experience of her reel wedding in Diya Aur Baati Hum.

Wedding rituals are going in full swing in Shashi Sumeet Mittal's popular show Diya Aur Baati Hum on Star Plus as Rathi family's beloved daughter Chavi is getting married. Pretty and bubbly Sehrish Ali, who essays the character of Chavi, is quite excited about her on-screen wedding. We spoke to Sehrish to hear more about her on-screen wedding.

Sharing her excitement of getting married on-screen, Sehrish says, "I am super-duper excited for my on-screen wedding. I always wanted to get married since my childhood days whether in real or reel. It hasn't happened in real yet but I am happy that I am getting married in my reel life. Now, I am thinking that I should get married in real life too (laughs). It's my first reel wedding and I always wanted to wear sarees with pallu on my head and lehangas with mangalsutra and sindoor. I am a Muslim girl so I won't be getting these things to in my real life so I was very happy about wearing lehangas, jewelry and even my sandals. I am really enjoying my bridal attire. There are some people who get bored of this attire if they are asked to wear for more than 2-3 days but because of my inquisitiveness, I didn't feel about it as such. I was completely engrossed in it."

When asked Sehrish as how much time she takes to get ready as a bride she says, "One and a half hour which I think is very less time I have taken because being a bride one needs a lot of time to get ready. I used to do everything in this one and a half hour right from my jewelry, make up, mehendi and lehenga. I have got the best makeup artist who does my make up so well that I don't need to do anything after that."

Talking about her real wedding she shared, "My real wedding would be very different as it would be love cum arranged marriage. Adil is a perfect guy for me and my real wedding would be very different. Interestingly, after watching my on-screen wedding everybody at my home now wants me to get married. They were saying that my wedding track is going on and I am looking good in as a bride; I should get married now in real too (laughs)."

As per the track in the show, Chavi is not willing to wear the old lehenga as per her mother-in-law's wish. So, what if Sehrish had to wear the old lehenga in her real wedding? Sehrish says, "In real, Adil doesn't even let me wear a dress twice so there is no chance that I will be wearing an old lehenga. Adil is the youngest in his family and is very much pampered. So being the youngest one in the family, of course I would be getting a very special lehenga."
