Says the producer, as she talks about why Ishqaaaz is currently showcasing socially relevant issues.

Ever since Star Plus' Ishqbaaaz telecast its last time leap, the show has been making a conscious effort to telecast issues that are prevalent in everybody's day-to-day lives.

They started with how social media impacts our daily lives, then moved on to the subject of ill-treatment of the elderly, then came the topic of blind faith in fake Godmen and Women. And next in line for the makers is the Mee Too' movement.

Ask her as to why after showcasing some terrific romance and drama, the show's focus now a days has shifted to social issues, the producer has something insightful to share -

"For some reason Television has remained in the unreal zone and all we have created is a perfect Bahu who has nothing else in life but to solve other relative or friend's personal problems! 4 Lions has actually stayed away from Saas Bahu always and has always tried to pick some socially relevant issues in stories!"

She continued, "Geet (Drashti Dhami in Geet Hui Sabse Parayi) was a pregnant deserted woman who still believed that she has a right to fall in love! Zoya (Surbhi Jyoti in Qubool Hai) completely redefined the way a modern Muslim girl should be perceived! Anika (Surbhi Chandna in Ishqbaaaz) is nothing like how we have been told a girl should be or behave. She is not blindly religious, she doesn't cook, didn't change into sarees after marriage and has always stood up against everything feudal in India. I think it is time now, that we redefine the landscape of television and do some realistic and relatable topics. I think it's high time we free women of the burden which that this 'perfect bahu' image promotes."

Expressing her gratitude to Star Plus, Gul said, "And thankfully, Star Plus is giving us that platform where we can get women out of the burden of being that perfect Bahu. The channel has given us and Ishqbaaz that opportunity to finally do something relevant and yet creative."

"And that's why we are trying this now in Ishqbaaz ! I hope and pray the audiences support us on this. We want to do more with Television and with television characters," the producer concluded.

Well, who wouldn't support a nobel initiative aimed at the betterment of the society?

Wow. What about Khushi? Your most iconic character? Well I don't like Geet as a show but I love Drasthi Dhami and Qubool Hain. Ishqbaaz not so much.

Geet is awesome show. Without stepping in saas bahu drama show complete 500+ episodes and with lovely storyline and superb star cast. One of Gul's best show ever.

ZOYA FAROOQUI played by SURBHI JYOTI is best role TV industry ever have. I am missing surbhi jyoti and Karan Singh grover together sooo much, they make great pair. I wish one day soon they will come back together

Geet had a decent and unique story in 2010 where SaaS bahu sagas were famous other than that none of gul's other shows had anything strong Ishqbaaz was meant to be on strong relationship among brothers but I failed to see it personally.

Even Sanaya as Khushi is a strong character but strangely every time Gul avoided to take her name.What's so wrong with this woman?

Geet by far was the best of Gul .
Each scenes from geet gul then copied to make her other projects

Being in Star one geet made it popular throughout the world if it was in prime channel it would way different.
Proud of geet we got amazing actress Drashti Dhami khemka

I love surbhi Jyoti as zoya most, when she comes she broke all kind of barriers like girl next door can only wear salwar suit, and they are perfect. Zoya showed clothes does not show someone's character, she has imperfections but awesome with her imperfections, she inspired many girls, she make us learn how to stand for yourself. I can talk about ZOYA FAROOQUI a lot but now I am started missing #asya #kabhi more, sooo stoping for now.

Missing Geet show it was superb & Geet 's character was superb too Geet was so naive & was so helpless but she turn so strong & independent & she stood for herself & her rights DD was amazing as Geet Drashti Dhami all the best for ur new show Silsila

About Ishqbaaz i disagree with gul that there was saas bahu tracks & things in Ishqbaaz i left watch the show due all those Saas bahu tracks the was great but she turned it in to saas bahu manytimes yes Anita is bindas & i like that about her but there r times when they hv turn her into perfect bahu who keeps solving her family & friends problems anyways we know it happens in all indian shows for trps
