"Experimenting varied shades is a way of life for an actor." - Debina Bonnerjee Choudhary

In a candid conversation with Debina, she is glad that she can justify Devi Paulomi, the antagonist in Santoshi Maa with grace.

Debina Bonnerjee Choudhary has portrayed positive and happy characters in her past projects, but now, she has experimented a villainous shade as Devi Paulomi in Santoshi Maa.

Speaking about her stint in the show, Debina said, "I am an antagonist in the show and I am loving playing every bit of it. It is a larger than life character and I believe it is being perceived well. I initially had only one scene per episode and now, the makers are rolling out the entire track focusing on me being a negative force opposite the character Santoshi Maa. I feel humbled to play an integral part of the show."

Santoshi Maa has its show setup in Naigaon and we have many actors who deny a show only because of the hectic traveling which exhausts them.

When we quizzed her about the hassle of traveling all the way to Naigaon, the pretty actress averred, "Well, I too was one of those actors who didn't prefer this route of traveling. But then, my earlier show 'Dr. Madhumati On Duty' on Sab TV, required me to travel to Mira Road and I realized that it is not that far. Moreover, it is convenient for me as I do not shoot every day."

Debina also believes that experimenting varied shades is a way of life for an actor.

She quipped, "I play a Goddess in Santoshi Maa, who is the antagonist. People loved me as Sita earlier and I have always tried to flaunt roles which are out-of-the-box. I am glad I am being able to justify a negative character with grace."

Debina, you have always done very well in mythological roles. Sita was and will always be your best role, but I'm enjoying Devi Paulommi too. I don't watch the show regularly due to time constraint, but I try to catch it whenever I can and you're doing very well.

I hope to see you in other mytho roles in the future!
