Producer Ajit Thakur alleges blackmail after model files FIR for rape and molestation

Bollywood producer Ajit Thakur was accused of rape and molestation by a 28-year-old model. An FIR was registered under section 376, 354 IPC on 26 May at the Bandra police station against the producer and several others.

Following the model’s complaint, the producer has now alleged that the model blackmailed him and he has evidence of the same. He clarified his stance while speaking to ETimes and asserted:

“The allegations made against me are false, malicious and motivated. It is nothing more than an attempt to smear my reputation. In fact, I have evidence that indicates that the complainant was attempting to blackmail myself amongst several others and when her attempts failed, she resorted to registering an FIR with baseless allegations. I will take all the necessary legal action against her and I am certain that truth will prevail”.

For the unaware, Ajit Thakur was also named in the MeToo row after he was accused of sexual misconduct by Supriya Prasad, a writer from Film and Television Institute of India in 2018. Ajit had then resigned from his position of content studio head at Reliance.
