Priyanka Chopra speaks on ‘grave’ Covid-19 situation in India, Begs all to stay home

Priyanka Chopra has ‘begged’ all to stay at home amid rising Covid-19 cases in India. She expresses her concern over the current scenario in the nation with a long note

The second wave of Coronavirus is resulting in record breaking number of cases everyday across the globe. India is also facing a grim number of Covid-19 cases and scarcity of hospital beds, oxygen cylinders and medicines.  

Global star Priyanka Chopra has come forward to express her concern over the ‘grave’ Covid-19 situation in India and also urged everyone to stay at home. 

Sharing a note on Twitter, PeeCee wrote: “The Covid 19 situation across India is grave. I'm seeing images and stories coming in from different parts of the country that are so scary...the situation is out of control and our medical fraternity is at a breaking point."

She added: "Please stay home.. I beg you to stay home. Do it for yourself, your family, friends, neigbours, community, and also out frontline workers.”

Further, Priyanka also shared suggestions to keep in mind and practice to curb the spread of the virus. She wrote: 

“Every doctor and frontline worker is saying the exact same thing: Stay home, Ensure everyone you know stays home, If you have to step out, wear a mask, Talk to those around you and help them understand this situation... we cannot take this lightly. Get the vaccine when it's your turn. Doing this will help us ease the immense pressure on our medical system."

Meanwhile, owing to the rapid increase in the number of Covid-19 cases in the country, the Central Government has announced vaccination for all above the age of 18 from May 1, 2021. Several Bollywood actors including Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan among others welcomed this decision.
