Actor Priyanka Chopra has shared an emotional tribute following the passing of veteran singer Asha Bhosle, who died on April 12 at the age of 92 in Mumbai. The singer had been admitted to Breach Candy Hospital a day earlier due to health complications.

Taking to Instagram, Priyanka posted a picture with Asha Bhosle and reflected on the impact of her voice across generations. She wrote, “For my generation and so many before and after, she wasn’t simply a legend we admired, she was a constant. A voice so eternal it felt like it would always be there. It is hard to put into words what it means to lose someone whose art helped shape the emotional landscape of an entire nation.”

In another part of her note, the actor described the loss in personal terms. She wrote, “Her voice was the backdrop of our lives… it felt like it would always be there.” She added that Asha Bhosle’s songs had been part of everyday experiences, from family gatherings to moments of joy and heartbreak, shaping memories over time.

Priyanka further expressed her gratitude, writing, “Rest peacefully. Your voice will live where all true legends do, forever in our hearts.” Her message echoed the sentiment seen across social media, where several public figures and fans have been sharing their memories of the singer’s work.

The passing of Asha Bhosle has prompted tributes from across the country, with many recalling her long association with Indian cinema and music. Over several decades, she recorded songs across multiple languages and styles, becoming a familiar voice for audiences across generations.

In an earlier interview with Bombay Times in 2018, Asha Bhosle had named Priyanka Chopra and Kangana Ranaut as actors who could portray her in a biopic, a remark that has resurfaced following her demise.

According to family members, a public homage will be held at her residence in Lower Parel, Casa Grande, from 11 am on April 13. The last rites are scheduled later in the day at Shivaji Park at 4 pm, where members of the industry and admirers are expected to gather.
