Priyanka Chopra Cried her Heart Out after an Actor got her Replaced

After three long years, Priyanka Chopra is returning to Bollywood with an emotional, soul stirring story titled, The Sky is Pink and our desi girl is going out and about promoting her co-production.

During one such interview with Pinkvilla, PeeCee opened up about the difficulties she faced in the Hindi film industry and how, despite all the hardships she managed to carve her niche globally. She also spoke about how a girl has to slog more than a boy to prove her abilities and convince everyone around that she is capable of doing things.

She said, “It is not just true to me but of the industry. And not just of the industry, it is the truth of how women are treated around the world. Girls are always devalued. That a girl needs to be four times special or has to prove her mettle four times more than a guy. That is just the norm the world has created in a patriarchal society. It will take our generation of girls to change that for the next generation.”

The global icon then went on to reveal how she dealt with the situation back then when she was replaced in a film, sometimes without any intimidation and how that left an impact on her. After getting the knowledge of being replaced without prior notice, Priyanka was shattered and cried her heart out to her father who then gave her a piece of advice which  helped her bounce back in the game stronger than before.

“I have been replaced. Yes. Once, a co-actor told me, and once, I read it in the newspaper. I just chose not to be a victim of my circumstances. Of course, I went and cried to my father, why me? But then he told me what are you going to do about it? I just made sure to be excellent in my next film and learn the job well. Even if the film doesn’t do well, I want to make sure that what I do is excellent.”

The Sky is Pink starring Priyanka Chopra, Farhan Akhtar, Zaira Wasim and Rohit Saraf in pivotal roles is directed by Shonali Bose and is all set to hit the silver screens on October 11, 2019.
