Priyanka Chopra brings vintage craftsmanship to Hollywood red carpet in custom couture look

Actor Priyanka Chopra Jonas recently shared pictures from her appearance at the annual Gold Gala, where she was honoured with the Global Vanguard Award. The actor posted a carousel featuring her sculptural white couture gown and reflected on the evening through a heartfelt note shared on Instagram.

In her caption, Priyanka expressed gratitude towards Gold House for making her feel a sense of community and belonging. She also thanked everyone who contributed to her journey so far and added that she looked forward to moving “onwards and upwards.”

The actor’s appearance at the gala quickly became one of the most discussed fashion moments from the event. Styled by Ami Patel, Priyanka wore a custom couture gown designed by Amit Aggarwal. Reports surrounding the outfit revealed that the gown had been reimagined from a 20 year old chikankari saree and reportedly took nearly six weeks to complete.

The structured outfit featured an asymmetrical neckline, a long flowing train and intricate glass bead detailing. Fashion journalist Sujata Assomull described the look as a collaboration between Priyanka, Ami Patel and Amit Aggarwal, noting how the design connected heritage craftsmanship with a modern silhouette.

Amit Aggarwal also shared an emotional note online while discussing the outfit. The designer mentioned that his mother had admired Priyanka for years and said the creation was both a tribute to her and to mothers who encourage their children to pursue dreams fearlessly. Fans across social media also praised the outfit’s blend of vintage craftsmanship and contemporary couture detailing during the glamorous Hollywood event.

During the event, Priyanka also opened up about motherhood while speaking to Good Morning America. Reflecting on lessons learned from her own mother, she shared that standing up for oneself was among the most important values she hoped to pass on to daughter Malti Marie as well.
