Prabhas and Saif Ali Khan starrer 'Adipurush' to now release in 2023

On Tuesday morning, actor Prabhas took to his social media accounts to announce a new release date for his upcoming film 'Adipurush,' which has been pushed back once again. The pan-India production, directed by Om Raut of 'Tanhaji' fame, will now be released internationally on January 12, 2023 as an epic 3D action film.

Sharing the same with a title poster on the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri, the ‘Baahubali’ star wrote,

According to a report from a leading news portal, 

"Producer Bhushan Kumar and his crew, together with Prabhas and Om Raut, have been debating many release date alternatives, ranging from Dussehra, Diwali, Christmas, and Sankranti/Pongal, and have ultimately zeroed in on a January 13, 2023 launch”.

In Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Sankranti is one of the most important times for a film to be released, however, in Tamil Nadu, the Pongal season will aid the film. Feature films are also claimed to have done well in the Hindi market over the Sankranti week, with films like URI and Tanhaji grossing over Rs 200 crore.

Apart from Prabhas and Saif, ‘Adipurush’ also stars Sunny Singh and Kriti Sanon in lead roles. While Prabhas plays Lord Ram in the film, Saif will be seen as Lankesh and Kriti as Sita. The film was shot in Mumbai and Hyderabad.

Prabhas is currently preparing for the release of Radhe Shyam. It'll be released on March 11 all around the globe. Salaar, Project K, and a film with Dil Raju are among his other credits. Salaar has a strong potential for his second release of 2022 in the September to October window, but we're still waiting for more information on the status of Salaar's release.
