Portions Shot in February Scrapped, Shoot of 'Ek Makaan Ek Dukaan' To Start Afresh Now

The resumption of shoots has indeed led to an array of debates too where some people continue to stress on how they don't agree with resuming work right now where the scare of contracting the disease is probably at its max and cases are only rising four times with every passing day. On the other hand, the practical side dictates how resuming work is indeed the only way that people can earn money to feed their households, especially when it comes to the technicians and crew of a shoot. Nevertheless, a major chunk of shows has resumed work.

And as talk about resuming work, there is one show that is planning to start shoot afresh is Ek Makaan Ek Dukaan.

The show had begun shooting back in February but the lockdown was imposed and everything had to be stopped. Interestingly, the show, which was initially supposed to be a family drama is now being re-planned to have a comic touch and will be coming on-air soon. And this thus means that the shoot done in February is scrapped and it will be a fresh start for the show now.

In a report in Bombay Times, a source said, “The show underwent a major shift after the channel decided to go in for a change in its programming. We had shot a chunk in Varanasi in February before the lockdown was implemented. However, that has been scrapped now. It will now be a comedy show. In fact, the cast of the show had to re-audition; all the actors sent their audition clips from home. The pilot has been approved and things are back on track. We will commence the shoot in a couple of days.”

The show will be featuring Hiten Tejwani, Sonal Vengurlekar, and Rinku Dhawan in lead roles.
