They say it's a man's world. But as everyone is aware of, the television industry is a woman-dominated industry.

In an industry where 90% of shows are women-oriented, it is very hard for the male actors to make their mark. But there are some of them who have successfully made a mark for themselves. And they have not only managed that, they also continue to rule the hearts of many till date.

Barun Sobti

Barun started his career in 2009 with Shraddha. He, however, came into the limelight when he played the role of Raj, an intern doctor in Dill Mill Gayye. How I wish he were a doctor in real life too... Nevertheless, his last stint in Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon is what has made Barun a bankable star. And since then, there has been no looking back for Barun. In fact, his character of Arnav Singh Raizada became such a craze with the masses that when Barun decided to quit the show, fans demanded that the show should shut down, rather than bring in another actor opposite Sanaya. He even tried his luck on the 70-mm screen, post which he made his comeback with Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon? again. Unfortunately, that show too will shut shop soon. 

Vivian Dsena

Vivian Dsena has been a part of some splendid shows in his 7-year-long career. He started off as playing Ram Kapoor's son in Kasamh Se. But his claim to fame was the supernatural thriller based on the Twilight series, Pyaar Kii Yeh Ek Kahani. He then went on to do Madhubala and also a few reality shows. He is currently enthralling his fans with his portrayal of Harman in Colors' Shakti - Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ka. But for me, he will always be RK in Madhubala. The intensity that he oozes in all of his characters would make any girl fall on her knees.

Karan Singh Grover

The icon of youth today, started his career with a youth show itself - MTV's Kitni Mast Hai Zindagi. He along with five others were the chosen lot. He then went on to do Kasautii Zindagi Kay and Dill Mill Gayye, both shows that changed his career graph. After Dill Mill Gayye, KSG became the dream boy of every woman and inspiration for every man. Irrespective of his Casanova image, Karan Singh Grover still tops the list of some of the most desirable men in the television industry today.

Shakti Arora

Shakti Arora is the perfect example of someone who has been through the grind of the television industry. Shakti started his career with episodic shows, grabbed Dill Mill Gayye and a few others, the role that got him noticed was that of Taposh in Star Plus' Tere Liye. He then bagged Pavitra Rishta, where he played a very pivotal role. But he was yet to land a big role. And that came in the form of Colors' Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi. This show catapulted Shakti to unimaginable heights of fame and he is one star that producers reckon with today.

Varun Kapoor

He is currently known as the mischievous Dr. Veer Malhotra in Colors' Savitri Devi College and Hospital. Varun Kapoor entered the industry with Beytaab Dill Ki Tamannah Hai in 2009. But his claim to fame was Star Plus' Saraswatichandra, where he played the younger brother of Gautam Rode, Danny. 

Namish Taneja

Remember the bratty brother of Karan Mehra in Sony TV's Ekk Nayi Pehchaan? That is how Namish Taneja a.k.a Lakshya from Swaragini started his career. Namish is currently shooting for his Star Plus project Ikyawan. The good looking lad has a tremendous female fan following and is also a talented dancer.
