Pooja Bhatt opens up on quitting alcohol four years ago

Pooja Bhatt broke the stigma in the society around discussing addiction issues when she opened up about her struggle with alcohol addiction.

In a recent post, Pooja celebrates four years of quitting alcohol with a sweet note. Sharing a picture of a beautiful cotton candy sky, she wrote:

“Four years sober today! Earlier it was pink champagne, malt & packed city bars. Now it is pink skies & deserted, country roads.” Expressing that life has changed for the better, she added further, “ What an enriching, searing journey it has been. Gratitude to life & the divine force that has watched over me, kept me true, vulnerable, strong. #sobrietyrocks.”

This is not the first time Pooja opened up about battling alcoholism. Earlier in September, she had shared her fight against the addiction and penned a long note to help others facing the similar struggles of addiction. 

''Alcohol is a drug,and was my drug of choice.Just because it is socially acceptable does not mean it is not. I have had to make more excuses for NOT drinking in the last few yrs than I ever have for drinking-to friends,foes and ‘well’ meaning acquaintances alike” she had shared.
