Pearl V Puri case: Mother of the victim granted interim relief

It was only a while ago that it was confirmed that actor Pearl V Puri, who was arrested in the rape case of a minor has been granted bail. While the actor has received immense support even earlier when he was first arrested from the industry, the mother of the victim was soon labelled as co-accused as well.

For now, latest update suggests the co-accused mother of the victim has also been granted interim relief by the sessions court till 2nd July 2021. The family of the victim had filed a POCSO case against Puri.

Lawyer Swapna Kode when contacted by ETimes TV said, "My client has been granted interim relief by the Hon’ble Sessions Court till 2/7. My client has been made an accused in the Pocso case and hence she has approached the court.'' She further added, "My client was forced to move the court as she was informed that she has been made an accused and the reason given was she did not inform anyone in spite of knowing about the incident so she had no option but to move for anticipatory bail and the matter has been posted for July 2.''

The victim filed FIR in 2019 u/s IPC 376 AB, r/w POCSO Act 4, 8, 12,19, 21 at Waliv and complained that accused Pearl Puri had sexually assaulted the victim was then aged 5 yrs.
