Parineeti Chopra

Parineeti Chopra has been working in a full mode with back to back projects. Currently, she is awaiting the release of Jabariya Jodi that also stars Sidharth Malhotra in lead role. The rom-com which revolves around groom kidnapping custom in Bihar, also stars the varied powerhouses of talent such as Aparshakti Khurana, Sanjay Mishra, Neeraj Sood, Gopal Dutt, Javed Jaffrey, and Chandan Roy Sanyal.

Originally the movie was supposed to be released a week before, but to a avoid clash with Sonakshi Sinha’s Khandaani Shafakhana the movie is scheduled to release on August 9.

The 30-year-old actress, who was busy shooting for Saina Nehwal biopic, is now prepping for her new movie The Girl On The Train, the Hindi remake of the 2016 Hollywood film starring Emily Blunt. On Tuesday, the Ishaqzaade actress took to her official social media handle to announce the same.

Posting a picture of herself from the set, she wrote, “So! We’ve started shooting for #GirlOnTheTrain in London. Its my MOST difficult role to date; I feel like I’m in a hostel, with no time (or headspace) for social media or chilling or doing anything else.” “Its a new experience for me - being cut off from everything and everyone else. Will share the first look soon. This picture was the only “timepass” I’ve done on set so far,” she added.

Along with Parineeti, the movie will also have Kirti Kulhari playing a pivotal role. The Four More Shots Please actress, who is busy promoting her upcoming movie Mission Mangal will join the cast in London on 16th August, after the release of the before mentioned movie.

A source close to the filmmaker, Ribhu Dasgupta, told Indian Express, "Kirti has recently shot for director Ribhu Dasgupta’s Netflix original series Bard of Blood. Both had a great time shooting for the series. When Kirti read about the role in the remake of The Girl on the Train, she loved it and then the journey started. Kirti will be leaving for London on the release day of her film Mission Mangal and joining the cast on August 16 for a month-long schedule. She will be seen playing Aaliya Shergill, a British cop."

Talking about the film, Kirti Kulhari told the publication, "It’s a great feeling being directed by Ribhu Dasgupta and it’s my second outing with him after Bard of Blood. We share a great equation and I am looking forward to collaborating on this one now. It is my fourth project with an all-female ensemble cast after Pink, Four More Shots Please and Mission Mangal and I am really enjoying being in this space.”

Parineeti Chopra, who plays an alcoholic divorcee and gets involved in a missing person's investigation, told IANS, "I am super excited to be shooting this film because this is a role that I have never experienced before, read before and I think the audience has never experienced this kind of acting piece from me. It's a complete contrast to the kind of personality that is associated with me, so I am excited as an actor to do something completely new."

The 2016 film was based on the novel of the same name which is about a commuter who takes the same route every day and has a keen interest in the life of a couple. The film was nominated for a BAFTA for Best Actress and received the Popular Choice Award for Best Thriller film.
