The nation is divided in opinion as far as the new Citizenship Amendment Bill is concerned. Some are voicing the injustice and some are raising their voice against the action of Police against the protesters. Many Bollywood celebrities have taken to their social media handles to express their anger over the issue and one amongst them is Parineeti Chopra.
The actress took to her social media account after the Jamia Millia Islamia row and wrote,"If this is what’s gonna happen every time a citizen expresses their view, forget #CAB, we should pass a bill and not call our country a democracy anymore! Beating up innocent human beings for speaking their mind? BARBARIC."
Many came to applaud Pari for her strong words and her stand but some started speculating that she too ended up paying a price for raising her voice. The speculations were rife that Parineeti got removed as the brand ambassador of Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao campaign.
Just two days ago actor Sushant Singh, the host of Savdhaan India too had been removed from the show owing to his participation in the CAA protests and people connected the two. But the case is not the same with Parineeti. She is not the brand ambassador of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign anymore. She was one way back in 2015. Her contract ended in 2016 and after her Sakshi Malik, Rio Olympics bronze medalist took the position.
