Pallavi Joshi is currently celebrating the win as she received the 69th National Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in The Kashmir Files. After treating the moviegoers with The Kashmir Files, Pallavi Joshi is back with her next project, an exciting medical thriller called The Vaccine War.
The film is directed by her husband, filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri, while she's also helped produce it. In a recent talk with ANI, Joshi shared more details about this unique film about science. It's the first of its kind in India and is set to hit theatres on September 28, 2023.
She talked about what viewers can look forward to in the film. She said, "This movie is very special to me as a producer. It focuses on women scientists, which makes it stand out. When we started researching, we didn't know that so many women in India are into science. Just like we saw female rocket scientists in their traditional attire when Chandrayaan landed on the moon, here we have female bioscientists as the heroes."
She proudly expressed how important it is to tell the story of these women who made the vaccine. Their story was something she felt compelled to share as a woman. Being able to act as one of these scientists was a moment of pride for her. She likes to think of this as a superhero movie where she got to play a superhero.
For the unversed, recently, The Kashmir Files received the Nargis Dutt Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration at the 69th National Film Awards.
The film is based on the true story of how Covaxin, the COVID-19 vaccine, was developed in India during the pandemic. It features other talented actors like Nana Patekar, Raima Sen, Anupam Kher, Girija Oak, Nivedita Bhattacharya, Sapthami Gowda, and Mohan Kapur.
