About the complaint filed against Palash

A complaint has been filed against Palash Muchhal in Sangli, leading to legal trouble for him. TV9 Marathi reports that a case has been registered against Muchhal under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. The complaint was lodged by Vigyan Prakash Mane, who is from Sangli and happens to be a childhood friend of Smriti Mandhana.

In Sangli, Vigyan Prakash Mane has lodged a complaint detailing an incident that occurred on November 22 at a toll plaza on the Sangli-Ashta road. Mane alleges that during a dispute, Palash Muchhal made offensive remarks referencing caste.

A case has been registered by the police under Section 3(1) of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, as well as Sections 351(2) and 352. The investigation into the matter is ongoing.

Police’s statement

According to the report, the underlying issue is a financial dispute. Police have stated that Palash Muchhal had borrowed Rs 25 lakh from Vigyan Mane for a film production project. Mane later approached Muchhal to request the repayment of this sum. The confrontation reportedly happened when Mane brought up the matter again, escalating into an argument between them.

Vigyan Mane addressed the media to share his account of the events. "He assured me that the film would be completed in six months. However, he turned out to be deceitful. When I asked for my money back, he evaded the issue. When I confronted him, he used derogatory language; I cannot even repeat it on camera. His attitude is quite troubling," he stated, as reported by Zoom.

This case has also drawn attention to Palash Muchhal's prior relationship with Smriti Mandhana. They were previously engaged and were scheduled to marry in Sangli in November 2025. However, the wedding was canceled, and the couple subsequently announced their separation on social media without disclosing the reasons for their split.

Police officials have confirmed the registration of a case and stated that the investigation is ongoing, with no further official details released at this time. As the situation unfolds, legal proceedings and statements from the involved parties will likely be closely monitored.
