After the success of series like Broken But Beautiful, Puncchh Beat and Kehne Ko Humsafar Hai, there is no stopping for ALT Balaji. Every month there is a new series announced and launched to keep viewers engaged. The latest series that is creating a buzz around the town is ‘It Happened In Calcutta’.

The series is set in the year 1960 in Calcutta and revolves around a young girl who aspires to become a doctor. She gets into Calcutta Medical College and comes across a flamboyant and arrogant boy and falls in love with him. The twist in the tale happens when strange series of events follow.

We exclusively reported about Karan Kundrra being roped in for series and also reported that the makers are still searching for the female lead. Approximately 300 girls were auditioned for the same. A media report suggested that Kehne Ko Humsafar Hai fame Palak Jain has been finalized as the female lead of the show.

We contacted the actress regarding same and she said that she had no idea about it until we called and asked. She clarified that she hasn’t received any call from the production house, not even for an audition. However, she also said that if the makers approached her she would love to do it.

Palak, who has been a part of shows like The Buddy Project, Laado 2, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi to name a few got married early this year in February to her long time boyfriend Tapasvi Mehta.

Well, if Palak is not the girl we wonder who will the makers cast opposite Karan Kundrra.
