Over 95,000 people visited Mughal Garden Sunday

New Delhi, Feb 23 (IANS) A record 95,537 people visited the Mughal Gardens at Rashtrapati Bhavan Sunday, an official statement said.

New Delhi, Feb 23 (IANS) A record 95,537 people visited the Mughal Gardens at Rashtrapati Bhavan Sunday, an official statement said.

'The Mughal Gardens of Rashtrapati Bhavan including the Musical Garden, Spiritual Garden, the Herbal Garden and the Biodiversity Park saw a record number of visitors on Sunday. A total of 95,537 people, a record for a single day, visited the gardens,' said an official statement here Monday.

The gardens were opened for general public Feb 7 and will be closed March 9. The gardens are open everyday except Mondays.

'More than 400,000 people have already visited the gardens,' the statement said.

Designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens, the Mughal Gardens occupy an area of 13 acres and are a blend of the formal Mughal style with the design of a British garden. The Mughal Gardens are beautified with Mughal style canals, fountains and terraces.
