Outside the courthouse, fans show their support for Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan ahead of his bail hearing

While Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan's bail hearing in a special court is taking place, fans gather outside the court in solidarity. 

The paparazzi photographed a fan who was holding a poster. The poster features an image of Aryan as well as the words 'We Support Aryan Khan' and 'Release Aryan Khan.'

Supreme Court lawyer Khushbu Jain told ETimes,

Whereas NDPS Act of 1985 is concerned – punishments for crimes are flexible. It depends on how much quantity is involved in the commission of the offence. Contraventions involving ‘small quantities’ are punishable with rigorous imprisonment of a term which may extend to one year or with a fine which may extend to Rs 10,000 or with both

She goes on to say that according to her legal opinion, Aryan should be able to make bail. She says

The said Section read in conjunction with the provisions of Schedule II of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 would make the present offence, if any, bailable in nature

She continues,

Even if we accept that Aryan consumed drugs, the NDPS Act provides for immunity from prosecution if classified as an addict. The law provides for ‘addicts volunteering for treatment enjoy immunity from prosecution'. This immunity could be withdrawn if the addict does not undertake complete treatment.
