The 92nd Academy award ceremony this year witnessed something major when ‘Parasite’ by Bong Joon Ho made history by being the first foreign language movie that received the Best Picture trophy. The filmmaker received four awards for his South Korean dark comedy thriller which includes the Best Picture Award.

In a recent development, Joon Ho is teaming with Adam McKay for the new five-to-six episode series, and none other than Avenger star Mark Ruffalo is being eyed to play the lead. The details of his character in the TV series have not been revealed yet.

Talking about the television adaptation of this Oscar winning South Korean masterpiece Joon Ho spoke to The Wrap and said, “I had all these key ideas accumulated from when I started writing the script. I just couldn’t include all those ideas in the two-hour running time of the film, so they’re all stored in my iPad and my goal with this limited series is to create a six-hour-long film.”
