Nushrratt Bharuccha talks about 'Janhit Mein Jaari' being a family film

Actor Nushrratt Bharuccha was last seen in her latest release Janhit Mein Jaari. Nushrratt plays the role of Neeti who works in a condom-selling company but has to hide the fact from her in-laws. Her character faces several struggles as she goes on to sell condoms, a job which is looked at with disgust and shame.

While, the movie is all set to premiere today on the OTT platform Zee5 the actress has opened up about if she thinks the audience is ready to watch the film with their family.

The Pyaar Ka Punchnama actress replied by saying, 

"Ofcourse! I think audiences have surprised us as filmmakers. They have surprised the industry with the kind of content they like, the kind of films they want to support, the films they will talk about, and the films that have created an impact on them. I had a similar reaction even when I did 'Chorri' and when I did 'Ajeeb Daastaans' which were really strong films and audiences kind of liked it.. they were very excited about it, and they completely appreciated it and they were happy to be that film's audience."

She further added, 

"I think similarly for Janhit, the fact that you can sit and watch it now on ZEE5 with your entire family, and have a fun family movie night is exciting. And we have seen those in lockdown. I used to have a lot of movie nights with my parents and my grandmother and now audiences can watch a 'Janhit Mein Jaari' with the whole family. I think that's one of the best parts about this film and the USP of this film. To be able to laugh and take away a positive message with the entire family from the comfort of home."

Janhit Mein Jaari released on June 10 and only earned ₹42 lakhs on day one. However, the film saw a near-100% jump in earnings on day two and ended up with a moderate ₹3.33 crore in week one. The film also stars Pavail Gulati, Annu Kapoor, Anud Dhaka, and Paritosh Tripathi.
