Not Nayanthara but Samantha Ruth Prabhu was Atlee's first choice to star opposite SRK in 'Jawan'

The much-awaited teaser of Shah Rukh khan's upcoming film directed by Atlee was unveiled today. The teaser of Jawan has caused a buzz on social media and fans can't wait to witness this on the big screen. 

Bollywood's King Khan has once again dazzled his admirers with a gruff, unorthodox appearance. While the makers are expected to introduce Nayanthara as the leading lady soon, word on the street is that Samantha was the initial choice for the SRK starrer with director Atlee.

Samantha was the one who was offered Jawan first, but she reportedly declined due to personal reasons. She had to drop out of this major production since she was expecting a child with her then-husband Naga Chaitanya. Because Samantha declined the offer, it slipped into Nayanthara's hands.

Talking about Jawan, Kollywood's lady diva Nayanthara will portray an investigative officer, while Shah Rukh Khan will portray a dual part. In addition to her, Jawan has Priya Mani, Sanya Malhotra, and Sunil Grover in supporting roles. Jawan, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Nayanthara, will be released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada on June 2, 2023.

On the personal front, Nayanthara is getting married to her long-time beau, filmmaker Vignesh Shivan. On June 9, the couple will tie the knot in front of their closest friends and family members.

Samantha, on the other hand, has a busy schedule and has a slew of projects in her kitty including the highly anticipated Yashoda and Shaakuntalam. She also has Russo Brothers' Citadel, which is directed by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK and stars Varun Dhawan. In addition to Family Man 2, the actress has Arrangements of Love, which includes her Hollywood debut with BAFTA-winning director Philip John.
