Not having any stable work since 2018 - Perneet Chauhan

The pandemic has led to more and more actors getting insecure about their work where many of them have lost out on projects or have been waiting for good work to come in for the longest time. One such actor in the list has been actor Perneet Chauhan. While Chauhan has been on the tube for a while now having been in multiple TV shows, her last notable work was in shows like Humsafars and more recently in Saam Daam Dand Bhed. Since then, the actor has struggled with to find stable work.

Talking about it with ETimes TV, Chauhan said, “I joined the show Humsafar and I was playing the sister of the lead character but that show went off air in three months. I barely shot for it and it went off air... it was very disheartening for me because it was after 2018 that I was doing a show and it didn’t work out."

Needless to say, such instances can easily bog one actor down but it is important to keep oneself motivated. About it, she said, “I had also signed a big show with a big production and they agreed to the budget and everything else. But that also didn’t materialise. I started to wonder why so many things were going wrong in my professional life. Sometimes the energy around us is not right and hence things don't work out. But we have to keep motivating ourselves. I am very hopeful that things will change for me in 2022.”

When asked how did she survive financially in these times, she said, “I am really fortunate that I live with my family. I have been raised here, so I have a house. I wonder how people who come from other cities survive in Mumbai, especially in these pandemic times. I was managing by doing television advertisements and that is how I kept working and being in front of the camera. I was fortunate that I was getting advertisements, but again it's important to get work consistently.”

She concluded saying, “There was a time when I was heartbroken because nothing was working out for me. I am spiritually inclined and have been practising Buddhism since 12 years now. That has helped me stay calm in these times and kept me motivated. It has made me understand that whatever happens in life happens for a reason.”

We hope Chauhan does get worthy and stable work in 2022 which she is of sustenance.
