Cricketer Deepak Chahar, brother of Bigg Boss 19 contestant Malti Chahar, made a powerful appearance during the family week segment of the show. His visit quickly turned emotional when he addressed a remark made by Kunickaa Sadanand, who had described Malti as a lesbian during a conversation with Tanya Mittal. Deepak expressed clear disappointment and firmly told Kunickaa that such a statement on national television was unacceptable.
While seated with the housemates at the dining table, Deepak openly voiced his concern. He said, 'Aapne agar kisi ko lesbian bola yaa gay bol diya, toh ye bahot bada platform hai. Main ye nahi kahunga ke aap galat bol rahe ho yaa jhooth bol rahe ho, aapne ye bola tha ke main 100 per cent sure hoon, ke woh lesbian hai, ye bohot galat baat hai.' His words made it evident that he believed the comment could seriously affect how the public perceives his sister.
Malti, who had been unaware of the exact term used by Kunickaa, appeared shaken after learning the truth. She recalled that Kunickaa’s son Ayaan Lall had apologised to her during his visit, yet she never understood the reason. Only after Deepak’s revelation did the context behind the apology become clear to her, leaving her visibly distressed.
Deepak clarified that his intention was not to escalate tension within the house. He remarked, 'All I want to say.. ye married toh hai nahi, agar isne bhi kisi ke baare mein toh woh bhi married nahi, toh agar married nahi hai koi aur agar aap uske baare mein bol do toh... uski iss how ke baad mein hosakta hai ke logon ke dimaag mein image baith jaaye woh.' He pointed out the long term impact such statements can have, especially when spoken on a platform watched by millions.
He further explained that while India is increasingly accepting of diverse sexual identities, it is entirely a personal choice for someone to share their orientation. No individual, whether inside a reality show or outside in everyday life, has the authority to assign such labels to another person.
Later, Kunickaa apologised to both Malti and Deepak. She insisted she held no prejudice and mentioned that her closest friend identifies as a lesbian. Malti cut in and firmly clarified that she is not a lesbian and urged Kunickaa to stop repeating the word.
