Talking about the film Ittefaq, it is inspired by the 1969 film of the same name starring Rajesh Khanna and Nanda. Directed by Abhay Chopra, the film stars Sonakshi Sinha, Sidharth Malhotra and Akshaye Khanna in the lead roles.

According to the promos, the plot of the film says, Dev (Akshaye Khanna), a police officer, is investigating a double murder case that has only two witnesses, who are also the prime suspects. The suspects - Vikram (Sidharth Malhotra), an acclaimed writer, and Maya (Sonakshi Sinha), a young homemaker, have different narratives about the events of that fateful night. As both, the stories seem true but there can only be one truth. Dev played by Khanna juggles between the two stories and tends not to settle till he finds out what happened that night.
