No red carpet, no celeb circus: Krishnavataram drops trailer & song at satsang, Sri Sri calls it a hit
No red carpet, no item number blasting in the background, no anchors screaming into microphones. Just a spiritual gathering that happened to have a film trailer dropped into the middle of it.

The film's trailer and new song Krishna Govinda were unveiled at an Art of Living Foundation satsang in Bengaluru, organised by Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. The event was attended by thousands in person and livestreamed across 130 countries simultaneously. Director Hardik Gajjar, actors Siddharth Gupta and Sanskruti Jayana, and producer Sajan Raj Kurup were all present at the occasion. Sri Sri met the team separately before the evening event and called the film a super hit, which is a notable thing to say about something the general public has not fully watched yet. The team accepted the words graciously and with what appeared to be genuine reverence rather than the performative kind.
The choice of venue alone separates this launch from virtually every other film that has released in recent memory. No red carpet, no item number blasting in the background, no anchors screaming into microphones. Just a spiritual gathering that happened to have a film trailer dropped into the middle of it.
What the Film Is Actually About
Krishnavataram Part 1, subtitled The Heart, covers Krishna's journey from Vrindavan to Dwarka. It attempts to go beyond the version of Krishna that most people know from television serials and calendar art. The film covers his bond with Radha at its emotional core, while also addressing his identity as a philosopher, a protector and a figure of cosmic significance. Siddharth Gupta plays Lord Krishna while Sanskruti Jayana features alongside him in what is being positioned as a devotion-driven cinematic experience rather than a mainstream entertainer. Whether it actually delivers on that ambition is something only May 7 will confirm.
The Strategy Behind the Satsang Launch
Releasing a mythological film is a very specific commercial bet. The core audience is devotional rather than purely entertainment-driven, which means conventional Bollywood marketing has limited reach and relevance. Launching through a spiritual event with a direct pipeline to believers across 130 countries bypasses the usual noise entirely and goes straight to the people most likely to buy a ticket on opening weekend. Whether that translates to box office numbers or remains a beautiful moment at a satsang is the only question that actually matters now.
