‘No CCTV at Sushant’s House’, says Mumbai Police as CCTV Recordings of SSR’s Building Taken in Custody

Sushant Singh Rajput’s death has stirred up a storm within the Bollywood industry and the audience. The 34-year-old actor died by suicide on June 14, 2020, at his Bandra house in Mumbai. He was suffering from depression from the last six months, and reports of professional rivalry have also come to the surface in connection to his suicide case.

While the autopsy report has said that it is a case of suicide, the Mumbai Police are also probing professional rivalry as alleged, in connection to the case. Sushant’s close friend and Bollywood casting director Mukesh Chhabra rumoured girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty, manager Rohini Iyer have recorded their statements so far among many others. The Police have recorded 34 statements so far.

In an update to the case, the Police have now taken the CCTV recordings of Sushant’s building in custody. The Police also mentioned that no cameras were installed at the late actor’s house. 

“Police have taken in custody CCTV recordings of the building where Sushant Singh Rajput was staying. No CCTVs were installed at his house. Forensic report awaited: Abhishek Trimukhe DCP (Zone IX), Mumbai Police” tweeted ANI.

Meanwhile, filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali recorded his statement with the Bandra Police on July 06 2020. He was questioned for two hours and the filmmaker denied the reports of dropping Sushant from his films. SLB also informed them that he wanted to rope in Sushant for four of his films, but due to unavailability of his dates, the films went to other actors. 

Previously, filmmaker Shekhar Kapur who was supposed to make the film ‘Paani’ with Sushant had hinted that the late actor lost out on major projects because he was in contract with Yash Raj Films. Paani was later shelved after YRF backed out as the film's producer.
