Director actor Nishikant Kamat who was in a very critical condition in a hospital in Hyderabad has left for heavenly abode. He took his last breath in the private hospital situated in Gacchiboli Hyderabad. He was 50 and was suffering from Liver ailments.

He directed films like Dombivali Fast, Lai Bhari in Marathi and in Bollywood he directed films like Drishyam, Mumbai Meri Jaan, Force, Rockey Handsome to name a few.

Confirming the news to Indian Express, Marathi actor Jaywant Wadkar said, “I was in touch with producer Ajay Rai, who is a close associate of Nishikant Kamat. Nishikant passed away around 10:30 am today in Hyderabad. The process of bringing his body to Mumbai is currently on.”

We pray for his departed soul to rest in peace and may God grant strength to the family to bear the loss.

Saddened by Nishikant's demise, many celebs took to their social media accounts to express their grief and mourn his death.

Renuka Shahane is heartbroken by the new and expressing her shock she wrote: "RIP my friend Nishikant Kamat. I will cherish the wonderful times we shared. What a talented filmmaker you were. I am writing "were" with a very heavy heart. This is no age to pass away (Folded Hands Broken heart emoji)"

R. Madhavan wrote: "2020 continues to throw challenges and tragedies with Gale force wind. I know you are in a wonderful happy place now my dear Friend . RIP as we gape sadness and longing for you gleeful presence amongst us ."

Riteish Deshmukh shared a photo with Nishikant and wrote alongside: "I will miss you my friend. #NishikantKamat Rest In Peace. (Folded Hands emoji)."
