Nishant Malkhani tests positive for COVID-19; reveals how Kanika will help him

It is almost become unfortunately inevitable where rarely a day goes by without the news of a celebrity contracting COVID-19. And hence it does not come as a surprise that another name is added to this list but it is shocking that the name is Nishant Malkhani. The actor, best known for his role in Guddan: Tumse Na Ho Payega and having participated in Bigg Boss 14 last year has tested positive for COVID-19.

Talking about it to Bombay Times, Malkhani said, “Yes, I have been infected. I was scheduled to travel to Goa for a shoot tomorrow and hence, had to undergo a mandatory COVID-19 test, which came positive. I think I wasn’t destined to do the project. I have isolated myself and will be in quarantine for 14 days. The symptoms were mild. I had a sore throat and experienced weakness. I mistook it for a viral fever. Also, I didn’t expect to be infected, as I had been quite careful and was home all through the lockdown. In fact, the shoot turned out to be a blessing in disguise, as I underwent a test just because I was slated to travel for it. I am obviously not a part of the project anymore, but I wish them all the best.”

Talking about the routine he is following to combat the virus, he said, “I am following whatever I have heard and experienced with my loved ones and friends, who had tested positive for coronavirus. I am doing whatever worked for them, which includes having kadha, warm water and milk with turmeric along with Vitamin C supplements and medicines prescribed by my doctor. I am sticking to my regular routine of sleeping and waking early to get enough rest. I am sure I will be fit very soon.”

Interestingly, his friend and former co-star Kanika Mann only tested negative a couple of days ago and it is no secret that when she was positive, Malkhani took good care of her. Now, will that be the case for him. To this, he said, “Fortunately, she has tested negative. I used to send her food, medicines and check on her every day. I was also in touch with her family and updated them about her health. Kanika is my neighbour. I am sure that she will also send me food and she better send me good and healthy food now (laughs!). She will have to look after me because I live alone and currently in isolation. There is no option!”

We wish the actor is able to recover from the virus at the soonest.
