Colors' Ek Mayavi Prem Gaatha - Chandrakanta has been keeping audiences enthralled with its fantasy elements. A more recent development in the show is the entry of a new character.

We hear that Nikkhil Arya has been roped in by Balaji Telefilms to play a negative role in the TV show. The actor was last seen in Zee TV's Kumkum Bhagya in which he was playing a rather drastically different character.

If sources are to be believed, this new role will require a negative tint, something the actor hasn't really portrayed before.

It will be interesting to see the flavour Nikkhil will add to Chandrakanta. What do you think?

Life Ok's Chandrakanta too showed few things that are not from the novel but it did not butchered any character. Neither they made Virendra an abusive husband and murderer like Color's Chandrakanta nor made Chandrakanta a doormat biwi and bahu. It never dropped any important villains like Shiv Dutt, Kroor Singh, Nazim and Ahmed even though it introduced a villain named Marich which is not from the book. I don't understand how this show gets so much TRPs when it is only ruining the novel.
