Nawazuddin Siddiqui to play a major role in US Indie film 'Laxman Lopez'

Reportedly Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqiui will star in a US Indie film Laxman Lopez directed by Mexico's Roberto Girault.

In the upcoming US indie film 'Laxman Lopez,' Indian actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui will be seen playing a major role.

According to rumours, the film will be directed by Mexico's Roberto Girault, who has previously helmed local successes such as 2017's 'La Leyenda Del Diamante,' 2015's 'Los Arboles Mueren de Pie,' and 2009's 'El Estudiante.'

Beginning at the end of this year, filming will take place exclusively in the United States. More casting information will be released closer to the start of production. Lalit Bhatnagar, writer and co-producer of the horror film 'Little Darling,' is also the co-producer.

"I am very excited about this collaboration. This script is close to my heart and the transition of the story and the challenges that the lead character faces are sure to have everyone intrigued," said Girault.

He further said, "I began my quest for the ideal Laxman Lopez when I first read the script, and my mind instantly went to Nawazuddin. I've watched a handful of his films and am confident that this part will reveal a more sensitive side of him. It's a project that'll leave folks with a big grin on their faces and a lot of hunger in their bellies!"

Nawazuddin is at the Cannes Film Festival as part of an Indian government delegation to the festival and rights market, where India is the first nation of honour.

The actor is walking on the Cannes red carpet for the 9th time. The actor has always been seen exploring a whole new different attires on the event with prominent personalities from the industry.

On the work front, Nawaz has an interesting lineup of films which includes Tiku Weds Sheru, Noorani Chehra, and Adbhut among others.
