Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui has been the talk of the town for quite a few days now. The actor is making headlines due to his alleged controversy with his ex-wife Aaliya. Well, now the Kick actor has filed a defamation suit in the Bombay High Court against his former wife, Aaliya alias Zainab Siddiqui and his brother Shamasuddin Siddiqui, seeking Rs 100 crore in damages for making false and defamatory statements against him. According to a report from Etimes, the case is scheduled to be heard on March 30 by a single bench of Justice Riyaz Chagla.

The actor has been embroiled in a marital dispute with his former wife. He has requested the HC to permanently restrain Aaliya and his brother from making any statements or remarks that could defame him. In addition, he has asked for a written apology from his former wife and brother.

The suit alleges that Nawazuddin had appointed Shamasuddin as his manager in 2008 and entrusted all financial work to him. However, Shamasuddin started cheating and defrauding Nawazuddin by purchasing properties using the actor's money.

When Nawazuddin discovered the fraud and raised queries, Shamasuddin instigated Aaliya to file a false case against Nawazuddin. The suit alleges that Aaliya and Shamasuddin misappropriated Rs 21 crore from the actor. According to the suit, when Nawazuddin demanded the properties be returned to him, Shamasuddin and Aaliya joined hands. They started blackmailing the actor by uploading "cheap videos and comments on social media."

For the unversed, Aaliya cited "serious problems" in the marriage, including issues with Nawazuddin's family, incompatibility, and infidelity. She also claimed that Nawazuddin's brother, Shamas Nawab Siddiqui, physically assaulted her.

Nawazuddin initially remained silent on the matter but later responded with a legal notice accusing Aaliya of defamation and stating that the allegations were "baseless" and made with the intention of tarnishing his image. He also filed for divorce in 2020, citing "unreasonable behaviour" on Aaliya's part.
